One of Our Favorite Things: Eco-Friendly Bags

Everyone is big on the whole “Go Green” & “Eco-Friendly” kick these days, and we think that’s simply awesome! We can all make a difference to turn our world into a cleaner & greener place to live. It’s simple, remember three words- Reduce, Reuse, Recycle! Buy only what you need. Less goods= you throwing away less. Buy  items that can be used again, rather than throwing them away & creating more waste! The landfill on Long Island is almost large enough to ski down. So, what’s one thing we’re doing to go green? Using eco-friendly shopping bags! Plastic bags are recyclable, but we found our pantries stacked to the ceiling with them and were guilty of throwing them away instead of actually reusing them or donating them to local shops. By using reusable bags not only are you helping create a safer environment, you save 5-10 cents for every bag you use at the grocery store.

Many grocery stores and clothing stores sell reusable shopping bags for a dollar a piece! There are also tons of online websites that sell these trendy eco-friendly reusable bags. http://www.reuseit.com is a great site that sells a bunch of different styles, patterns & colors for cheap! They also have great information about going green. But you don’t have to spend money to be eco-friendly! Search around your house see if you have any old beach bag, backpack, or canvas bag lying around, they can all be used to carry home your goodies!
