Do you have a specific daily beauty routine? What products do you use every day?
Yes, I always wash my face with an exfoliated facial cleanser by Up & Up
, then I use Tarte’s Maracuja Creaseless Concealer
for under my eyes, and any trouble spots on my face. After, I use one of the above mascaras, and then I am set. Most days I am not make-up heavy. Only when I go to an event do I wear a bit more. And, I never wear any make-up except mascara in the summer. I use an exfoliated facial cleanser and a facial cream every morning and every night.
Do you have a favorite scent?
I don’t really like anything scented for my skin, especially my face because anything scented bothers me when it comes to creams. But my favorite go-to perfume is Calvin Klein’s Euphoria
Do you have any beauty secrets?
Being that my mom was a beautician and did make-up for weddings back in the day, I picked up a lot of tips from my mom, like blend–and then blend some more. You never want your make-up to look like you piled it on, or streaky. Also, for smaller eyes use lighter eyeshadow shades, a brightener on the inner corner of the eyes to make them pop, and everyone looks great with a cat-eye.
What products do you always have with you?
Chapstick (I’m sort of lame at this. I’m not someone who carries make-up in her purse. I Don’t have the room.)
Do you have any beauty trends that you look back on and regret?
Yes. Plucking my eyebrows into submission, and slicking my hair back with tons of hair spray…not a good look.
What beauty products are you willing to save on and break the bank for?
Mascara. There are so many great drug store brands. You just have to find the right ones. Trial and error. I will break the bank for a great facial cream, and cleanser.
Who are some of your beauty inspirations?
I’m sure no one else will say this, but Toni Braxton circa early 90’s. She had the best skin, was super daring with her hair cuts. I just remember thinking she was so beautiful when I was younger. She was’t afraid of her own beauty, body, and she pulled off some amazing looks.
What makes you feel most beautiful?
Practicing yoga. It’s probably a strange response, but I started yoga last August and it’s that movement when the world melts away and your just impressed with what your body can do. I feel beautiful when I practice.
